Making an ICBC Car Accident Claim Without a Lawyer

In British Columbia, the first thing you want to do to make a claim after being injured in a car accident is call ICBC dial-a-claim.  As I’ve said before, it’s critically important to get your Insurance Corporation of British Columbia ( ICBC ) file started right away. Take a look at my short video on how to make a car accident claim without a lawyer.
The information is going to be put into that file and can be accessed by the ICBC adjuster to help you get benefits or to pay for treatment. These things, if your injury is obvious and your doctor is supportive, can be helpful for you to access your ICBC benefits and the treatment(s), if you don’t have a lawyer.
Keep in mind however that your comments to the ICBC dial a claim representative will be written down and may be used later to support or deny your claim. If you are physically or emotionally injured you should have a friend or family member call and report the accident for you.
How long you have to file your claim with ICBC will depend on the type of claim and what information is available to ICBC. Generally, you should try to provide ICBC with a written report within 30 days and complete an Accident Benefit Claim Form (CL-22) within 90 days of the car accident. Again, reporting earlier will assist in getting benefits in a timely manner.

My my friend has been looking into ICBC injury claims ( http://www.britishcolumbialaw.ca ). I think we might try making the claim ourselves, but if it doesn't work then we might just have to hire a lawyer to help. Thanks for the great advice on how to file it.
